NetPOS.com (Founder, Product Visionary)
NetPOS replaces cash registers and traditional point-of-sale ("POS") systems with Internet connected web terminals.
NetPOS, was initially conceived and prototyped at Adia Information Management, and then spun-off as a seperate entity.
Steven Heintz served as Interim CEO through the company's first round of venture funding and recruited amazing computer scientists and entrepreneurs to the team such as Dr. Nathaniel Borenstein (primary author of the MIME protocol while at Bellcore Labs), and Chris Kaltwasser (founder of Skribe Software)
NetPOS.com launched its first customer site in December, 2000, becoming one of the first to market with a completely browser-based, Internet-delivered point-of-sale system.
For a flat monthly fee, retail or restaurant sites are provided with the required touch screen web terminals and basic POS functionality. Additional services are made available to NetPOS.com users on an as-needed or additional monthly subscription basis, such as store-to-store videoconferencing, and vendor-linked inventory.
